Details of your income for the year: +

The total amount of money you have earned. We would need either copies of your invoices, copies of bank statements or however you have kept your records. We can recommend Invoicing apps that charge a small fee and others that are FREE and software to help you keep records going forward.

Details of your expenses for the year: +

What have you spent money on for your business in the year. This can be software, materials, training courses, travel expenses, rent, etc. The list is almost endless. Receipts, bank statements or other proof of purchase is needed for us to process your self assessment. WE CAN HELP with a FREE app called 1Tap, for more details see below.

Allowances for the year: +

As well as receipts HMRC have a list of allowances you can claim for. These include mileage, working from home, clothing for certain jobs. Give us a call to go through your allowances when you have your income and expenses gathered together.

Your Information: +

We need to know the following about you:

  • UTR number (Unique Taxpayer Reference)
  • National Insurance Number
  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth

Anything else you think we should know: +

Who we are

 

We have been running Modern Accountancy for over 8 years now, and are always looking for ways to both improve our Service and Fees.

www.SelfAssessment.Today was born out of the need to separate our services to be able to offer you a more streamlined and software orientated focused service, getting ahead of the big changes in the way we all file taxes coming in soon.

MTD - Making Tax Digital has just gone live for all VAT registered companies who turnover more than £85k a year. This same process is going to roll out to all Self Employed people over the next few years, as early as April 2026.

So, what does it really mean to you?

Once implemented you will be required to keep digital copies of your tax records, this will include your sales invoices, receipts and expenses and bank statements. If HMRC then ask to check your records you can send them the digital file for them to review.

This is going to happen, so we are preparing now, by setting up systems and processes to help you be ready.
